A Very Long Month Indeed!

It has been pretty close to a month with me doing Little Man 24/7. First we went to Cali for a week and half, and when we returned, the winter break had started. We were for the most part without any respite because of the holidays. Tomorrow people, TOMORROW, he returns to school and his afterschool program.
Now, given a choice, I would NOT have scheduled an appt with Dr Ruby (the psychiatrist)at 10 in the morning, in a city an hour from where we live. Which means leaving at 9 at the latest, and we shall have to both be ready by then. BUT, when the above named Drs office calls and says she doesn't actually have any appointments for months, but she wants to see your kid, and could you come in on the first day back to school after having your child 24/7 for a month, because she squeezed things around and made time for your kid, what do you say? You say, "sure, we will be there" and then want to put your head on your hands and cry, but you don't.
It is going to be rough for him, adjusting back to his school schedule, and poor Bald Man is the one who will have to take him to school tomorrow after we return from his appointment.
Little Man will have to have another blood draw this week and he has another dr's appointment on Thurs, so this week is going to be so much fun. But at the same time, I can NOT wait for those moments of peace and quiet, I have missed them desperately.
I believe we, by that I mean Jill is planning a blogger lunch up this direction on Weds if anyone wishes to join us. I think we are celebrating school starting again. At least I am!

5 Kids Who Want To Play:

I hear ya. We've enjoyed the last two weeks, but I think Chico's ready to get back into his normal routine too.

I'll be wishing you the best for his blood draws. Those are the worst for Chico. He screams and cries and thrashes, and we have had the bad luck to get a young tech who tries to shush him as she's stabbing his arm. The last time I told her he hates that sound (the shhh, I mean), and suggested that we just try to draw as quickly as possible. That's a little B****ier than I usually am, but at that point I was ready to cry myself. Anyway, that wasn't supposed to be so long, I just meant to say good luck and I'll be hoping that all goes well and quick for him.

Have fun at the bloggity lunch! Sounds like it's going to be a fun time.

Wait, when did this bloggy lunch get planned? Jill mentioned that she had suggested you plan one, last week at breakfast, but I didn't realize it was this week!

Anyway, try to have fun without me. I know it will be hard. I was actually looking at the calendar for February to see when we could do one. I'll keep you updated.

Poor lady. Poor Little Man. Would it be better if he just didn't start until Tuesday, rather than showing up mid-day? Both my school kids flip out if I drop them off mid-day or pull them out for an appointment. And kid blood draws...I just feel for you. Praying for you.

Thank you Jo. I must be a big crybaby tonight because I cried when I read Chrissi's comment then again at yours. It really meant a lot. More than you know probably.

I've been stalking you for a while now so it was a big deal for me to leave a comment and another to get one from you. Who's tangled now?

I am stunned and amazed at my kid too. Truly I am watching a miracle before my very eyes since she started blogging. It's gut wrenching as a mother to hear what she wants to write even though I know the stories. She is determined to helps others and I'm just supporting whatever she feels is necessary. The changes she is going through are astounding. I'm still trying to figure it out and just keep up.

Didn't mean to write a book.. sorry
