An Apology Precedes the Whine

I am so sorry, but I have got to whine. I need people to feel sorry for me, because I sure as heck feel sorry for myself.
Little Man woke up last night at 2. TWO A.M. people!! Two in the morning. And then, he kept both Bald Man and myself up for the rest of the night. He never, ever went back to sleep. I kept going back to sleep, but kept getting waked up by the boy. Over and over again. I am so tired now, I can hardly breathe.
Please, this has got to stop, it will only take a couple more nights like this to put us into crisis mode. It has been so pleasant here lately and I have been enjoying the ride of peace and calm in our home. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but really, the last three weeks or so, we have had at least one or two nights a week of poor sleep on his part. I have been pretending it wasn't happening, because I don't want to face reality. I want and need something magical to happen, and for him to start sleeping again. The thought of us needing to mess with his meds makes me want to start bawling. I don't want to go down that road.
Feel free to pretend that you never saw this whiny post and not leave a comment. Unless you want me to feel like someone cares. In which case, leave me some comment luv!

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. And I know your tired, but if readjusting his meds will help, better to do it sooner than later. Then everyone can get back on track.

Hoping tonight brings you better rest.

I care. And I know how you are feeling. I have been sleep deprived for the last 5 weeks. It is starting to catch up with me too.

Take a LONG nap today and I will pray that Little Man starts sleeping better!! Good luck Jo!!

I do hope it resolves. I know exhaustion makes things near-impossible, or even impossible.

take care of yourself.

You deserve to whine! Sleep deprivation is the worst...that's why they use it in war! I hope you start getting some good sleep soon. And you are loved by many!

I'm sorry, Jo. It has to get tiring after so long. I hope something turns around soon. And I hope you get to sleep soon.

You can whine all you want!

I didn't realize that your husband is referred to as "bald man." That totally made me laugh, Jo.

Missing out on sleep is a very serious thing. You are not whining in the least. Drink copious amounts of caffeine. It will help. As for your boy, he must be tired during the day, yes? Has he started nodding off during the day?

When Giancarlo has too much energy, we run laps. Seriously.

I sneak to the bathroom and sleep while sitting on the toilet at work. I end up with sleeve marks in my forehead but if I didn't do it I make not make it through the day. Try it :) It is dreamy :)

I feel for you on the possibility of changing meds. Pace yourself. Can you see if the doctor will allow simple supplements or something basic before messing with his scripts?

BIG HUG!!!

This someone cares. Lack of sleep is cruel and unusual punishment, for sure.

Here's hoping for a nap for you today, and a good night's sleep tonight.

I am so sorry. Send him to my house....we don't sleep here either. We don't have one but 5 who take turns keeping us up.
Maybe this new soccer stuff is keeping him up. The change in routine...the new stimulation.
I'm just grasping for straws.
Good luck on getting some sleep.

Jo, I am so sorry. There's a reason that sleep deprivation is an effective torture!

Praying for you to weather this crisis, and sending sleepy thoughts to our Little Man.

Love, Laura

I'm with ya--I don't function without a solid night's sleep. Several bad nights in a row? You don't want to come near me.

Hope you get to catch up---and maybe even get a nice, long nap this weekend. (Moms can always dream, right?)

Sleep deprivation is the WORST. Feel for you. I love it when licensing says they don't need to have their levels raised when they are simply not sleeping. You try being functional on 45 minutes of sleep at a time. Yikes, our little guy used to wake up 22 times a night, probably more, but that was what I remembered to log. Hope you get some sleep:)
