I was disappointed when I checked outside this morning, it was another gray day today. But to change things up a bit, I needed to go do some shopping, so I took the pictures from the parking lot of the store. Kind of amazing to be surrounded by so much beauty. Even the parking lots look fabulous in Utah.
LOOK! The snow is starting to melt off the sides of the mountains. It means spring is coming, eventually.
Now check this out. Probably hard to see, so move on the next picture.
The red circle. You probably can't tell exactly what it is.
Here is a closeup. The downhill mens ski run from the 2002 Olympics! I think it is rather cool you can see it with the naked eye on a clear day.
Living here in Utah means I get to see a LOT of cool stuff. Here are some pictures from Saturday.
Kind of hard to tell exactly what kind of bird it is from so far away. Let's move in a bit, okay?
Hmmm, dark body, white head and tail. Uh, that would be a bald eagle folks! In flight no less.
Actually, there were six of them, just hanging out in someone's BACKYARD! We got to hear them calling to each other. It was incredible!
Thanks for dropping by and letting me share the reasons why I love living in Utah.

18 Kids Who Want To Play:
It was kind of a blechy day today.
Amazing pics of the eagle, what a rare and beautiful moment.
These are amazing pictures, Jo.
I love the mountains so much. My neighborhood has an amazing view of the mountains. We aren't right up against them or anything, but something about how we are situated - the view is panoramic and stunning, and every time I drive into the neighborhood and see it all framed there, I catch my breath a little.
I thought it was supposed to be a sunny day today too - stupid weather page.
I want to see the bald eagles in persooooonnnn
I am so jealous! Beautiful, Jo, just beautiful!!!!
The pics look great--even for a blah day!! I especially love the Bald Eagle pictures--FABULOUS!!
How do you get the pictures of that bald eagle.
There are only 2 in Utah and you have one in your backyard. That is amazing.
THAT is seriously cool.
I just clicked over from Soggy Cheerios..are you really having a problem with people stealing your pictures? I have a few fixes for you. I would start by disabling the right click on your blog (right click on one of my images..you get a message telling you are naughty). Its not fool proof, but it deters.
Where the heck do you live?? (I know Utah, duh but where) your photos are always great!! you look removed from the bustle of the city ---and I love that.
Such great photos. But I am ready for bright spring days!
I'm sorry your pictures are being stolen.
That is so cool about the bald eagles. I saw one in the wild for the first time a few weeks ago. It was in flight and awesome. Unfortunately I don't have the awesome camera that you have.
What a beautiful eagle! I miss living out west...
Nice pics!! Monday was a yucky day, however, today felt like spring!! YIPEE!!
Wait, did I read that right? The eagle was in your backyard? Where Do you live?
Actually, I was meaning to ask you about that (not that I'm stalking you or anything), but if you live by Sarah, then....well, email me. We'll talk. I used to live next door to Sarah.
Love the eagles, you know how much I love them. I was watching them try to fish today and they always amaze me. thanks for sharing.
i'm kinda hating snowy mountains right now. well, my knee is anyway.
