Home Again

I am home again. Too tired to breathe from too much partying. (snicker) Not really. But I really have only gotten about five hours of sleep each, the last four nights. I have many stories, and some pictures to share. Will do so tomorrow after I collapse in my own little beddy early tonight! I think things went well. YAWN!

Fix-it Friday

Hey, hey, hey, all you you bloggers. It is Friday, again. And Friday means Fix-it!
First, off to a view from the hill where she links to a place where you can FLING penguins. I mean really, what could be more fun??

And next. You, yes YOU, have the opportunity to fix ME! As you all know, I have a HUGE job interview next week. I did some serious shoppage this week, one, I needed something a bit more upscale for my wardrobe, and two, I needed the confidence you get from looking your best. Now, you, my darling bloggies, get to help me figure out what I am wearing and when. Please, if you have any particular fashion advice, or reasons why I should or should NOT do something, please, please share.
Also, any interview tips would be appreciated. I am soooo naive and unschooled in these matters.
I have had some wonderful fashion tips from the only real fashionista I "know", Mrs. Figby. I was sent on a hunt yesterday by Figby for some heeled, close toed, black, pointy toe shoes. Bald Man insists that I am not a real girl because I don't like shopping for shoes. Hours were spent yesterday and even the Princess was enlisted in the shoe search. I need small heels because I just can't wear big heels anymore and the last thing I need to kill myself trying to walk in them. So kitten heels it was. I finally found them. The winners!

Macy's was having a rocking sale this week. I got 2 shirts, a dress and new dress slacks for 75$. I am so proud of my skillz!
Here are the new pieces:

New shirt:

The sleeves are sheer

Opps! That isn't a new outfit, but she is darling, isn't she??

New slacks with a subtle, shiny, pinstripe

New dress, faux wrap:

Shucks, my fingers musta slipped again!

I already own this next suit, it isn't the best cut, but I am not spending more money right now. I can wear it with either my white shirt, or a silky blue one. (I promise the blue one matches in real life)

Here are the events:
1.I get off the plane, and go to the car rental, then drive to the corporate offices. I am planning on changing at the airport and touching up my hair and actually putting on MAKE UP there. Before I go to the office. I am not really doing anything there except meeting one or two people, nothing formal, no meetings or interviews, mostly just to get my hotel arrangements.
2. Dinner either night with boss peeps.
3. Next day, is THE day. 8:45 I meet with the big boss and the corporate meeting. Interviews follow.

If none of those outfits fit your idea of what I should wear, give me suggestions. I own more clothes of course, but they aren't new. I have beige dress pants, black dress pants and some business casual shirts, and a navy blue linen blazer. I do have a briefcase I am taking with me.
So give me, 1. 2. and 3. Either what you would wear, or what you think I should wear, or pick an outfit from above.
Sheer nylons or black? And which with each outfit?

Other grooming:
I will de-fur my upper lip on either sat or sun so it is smooth and clean
Eyebrows will be cleaned up
I will shave all the regular places before I go, I don't have a great deal of body hair, so I won't need to do it on the trip again.
I will touch up my gray roots either sat or sun also.
I will be bringing and actually wearing makeup!

Anything else?? Any advice? Tips? I keep having dreams that are half anxiety and half fantasy. Excited and nervous here!

It Isn't Midnight Yet...

Therefore, this is still officially Monday and this is a Mountain Monday post. Whew.. talk about squeaking by.
Spring is fickle this year. One day she is warm and cozy. The next day she is back to nipping at your poor nose and toes. But in spite of her unwillingness to stick around for more than just a day or two, the flora and fauna have decided it is SPRING already and lets get on with the business of doing our spring thing!

Look there is honest to goodness GREEN on the mountain sides.

Jack I think, was feeling neglected at not being allowed to participate in my blog. So I made sure to include him this week.

Poor Jacky, if he wasn't such a good sport about being tortured for my blog selfishness, I wouldn't do it!

I am forced to see cute almost every single day. You on the other hand, are usually only subjected to my darlings once a week!

June Bug is 10 months old, can you believe it?

This last pic is kind of like a News of The Weird pic.
We woke up on Sunday morning to Little Man's feeding tube extension looking like this

Photobucket

Bald Man said Little Man had a very restless night. After seeing that knot, I am inclined to believe him!

For anyone living out that direction, I will be in Cincy the beginning of next week for my job interview. If anyone is close enough, I would LOVE to meet you! Email me and we will make plans.
I am getting really nervous about this whole job interview thing...If anyone has any advice for me, I am sure open to it!

Update on the Dr. Visit

I have been so excited about this appointment with Dr. Ruby. I couldn't wait to show her the new and improved Little Man.
I was NOT disappointed. She could not get over how much better he is doing on every level!
He has gained 10 lbs. Grown 2 inches! His mood is better, his seizures, (for the most part, really!) are better and he is sleeping better.
While he is still foul sometimes, and oppositional sometimes, he smiles and laughs every single day.
He had that grand mal seizure, but he isn't seizing little seizures every night like he was pre g tube.
He still wakes up every night, but he is more likely to fall asleep again quickly. AND the best part, is pre g, we were getting a least 2-5 nights a month where he was up for most of the night. We are getting less than 2 now. wow.
All because of his g tube.
Imagine that. Starving for more than a year can affect you both emotionally and physically. Who woulda thunk it?
She said, over and over, I can't believe how well he is doing. Listening, making better choices. She was wildly impressed.
And me? Well, actually, I was sad. Teary eyed and broken hearted that my poor little guy suffered for such a long time. I can say, I didn't know it was affecting him like that. I knew he was eating less than 500 calories a day. I told the doctors that. They knew. But he wasn't losing weight fast enough for them to get alarmed. It wasn't until a very long year passed and they noted he was falling off the growth chart, that they felt they needed to do something. Dr. Ruby said as much today, that they didn't know, because his weight wasn't in a dangerous place. But still, it is a hard thing for a mama to handle. Knowing your child was basically starving is horrible bit to have to accept. I knew all this before I walked in the room. A part of me thinks I am just dumb to be upset about this today. The other part of me just wants to curl myself around my heart protectively and tell me I did the best I could and it is okay to be sad about something so awful. The other part of me is just so filled with joy that my Little Man is doing so well. Half of me is cheering and turning cartwheels, the other half? She is crying.

Sorry for the Silence

I really was planning a Weds post, but Little Man woke up with a cold and stayed home yesterday. That should tell you everything! What is worse is the Pea was home yesterday too and her and Little Man got along like cats and dogs. I finally piled the boy in the car and took him to the movies to see Nim's Island just for some peace and quiet!
Today the boy has an appointment with his psychiatrist, Dr Ruby, (because she is a GEM!) and I can't wait to show her how well he is doing. But that also means a LONG trip to the Large City, (an hour each way) and well, you know. yah... Thank goodness for portable DVD players!
Anyway, don't forget, tomorrow is Fix-it Friday, so be thinking about what wonderful thing you have to share with others. An idea, a craft, a website, anything you want to share! Drop me an email or leave a comment and not only will I visit your blog, but I will give you some linky love and others will drop by too!

Mountain Monday and Spring!

Oh gosh, it is 70+ degrees outside. Beautiful, sunny days!
Oh I have SOOOO much to share with you. So buckle up and get ready, because this post is picture intensive.
First off. Little Man seems to have left that Grand mal seizure last night as a single event. We are all breathing again. Little Man was his regular self this morning and I didn't get any phone calls from school. Many prayers of gratitude from this part of Utah. Thank you again for your kind thoughts, words, and prayers.
Second. We have a new addition to our family! His name is Percival. We call him Percy for short. He ultimately is Little Man's newest buddy, but I think Bald Man, and especially ME, love him the most.
Introducing Percy: (He is the one on the right)

Photobucket
You won't get any appreciation of Percy the pump until the next pic.

Photobucket

Look at the difference!!! The Joey weighs almost 2 lbs. Percy the Pump weighs mere ounces.

The backpack comparison: Percy's pack is the one on the right.

Photobucket

June Bug was our first model:

We figure if June Bug can crawl with the pack and pump, Little Man should have a much easier time.

What Percy gives Little Man, and again, ultimately our family is FREEDOM!
Check these next pics out! Instead of Little Man being hooked up to the IV pole, because his daddy and I can not figure out how to make the stupid Joey work on our outings, Percy gave my Little Man this!

I am having a hard time finding the words to express how precious my son's new freedom is to me. Suffice to say, my tears will have to be the communication I can not find words for. Here are some more pics from our outing on Saturday:
Beebee animals galore!

Bald Man got to cross something off his Bucket List
Not only did he get to sit in this Model T vintage car

He got to drive it! He was glowing with happiness the whole day. Go Bald Man!

One of Little Man's favorite parts of the day were the wagon rides.

Photobucket

We really had a great time on Saturday. I hope you caught all those amazing smiles from my boy. It didn't used to be so easy. What a wonderful gift to our family Percy is. May he live long and prosper!

Now, on to the mountains and spring!

There were mountains where we were on Saturday.

I found spring while I was out looking for the mountains:

There is a mist of green on all the willow trees in the area. I hear the weather man says it is going to get cold again in a few days, but for now, I will pretend Spring is here for good! So there ya go. Spring in our hearts and outside too.
(Especially since the seizure wasn't repeated today!)
